The students’ cooperative “The Children’s Joy” was formed in 1985. Its activities were based on the community work and cooperation with the social environment.
The importance of the students’ cooperative in our school, which is also a boarding school, is very great, especially if one bears in mind the type of our students’ handicaps.
The residents of the boarding school are slightly mentally retarded students attending the primary and secondary school, who suffer from problems like body’s disability, dim eyesight, partial deafness, and socially unacceptable behaviour.
It is very important to engage these students in production, tailoring and printing and other businesses, because it directs their energy towards the right aims and contributes to their easier integration in the process of the professional rehabilitation.
The cooperative received “The golden plaque” in 2002 as a confirmation of o its work quality.

WORKING AND PRODUCTION PROGRAMMES OF THE STUD. COOPERATIVE

The school offered different workshops to meet the students needs.
The tailor’s workshop is equipped with five professional sewing machines of different usage and two electric machines for domestic use with accessory equipment and furniture.
The screen printing workshop is equipped with: a machine for gold-stamping, a printing machine with manual cover, the “Carrousel” machine for textile screen printing , a manual machine for paper screen printing, a photocopy machine, a paper scalpel, a table offset machine size B-4, a hot air tunnel, a plastification machine, a hand machine for binding with plastic binds, a pre-press. computer system.

The products made in these workshops are used for both the school and the boarding school needs. Those are bedclothes, table-clothes, personnel uniforms, pieces of the students clothing, curtains, towels, decorative objects, a complete documentation for record keeping of the teachers’ work and undisturbed work of accountantship work and administration, paper fancy articles...

THE RATIONAL MANAGEMENT, INOVATIONS AND OTHER ASPECT

We are trying our best to economize the consumption of the basic, accessory and consumer materials. All accessory materials and furniture like shelves, desks, school cabinets, lighting devices are made by the students themselves.

THE COOPERATION WITH THE SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT AND ORGANIZATIONS

The students’ community “The Children’s Joy” cooperates actively with the “Buda Davidovic” engineering school, factory "Umka", in which they have practice.

We're also cooperating with other similar schools and organizations, Red cross etc.

COMPETITIONS

The cooperative received “The golden plaque” in 2002 from Serbian Union of school cooperatives, for results made on XII competition od schools cooperatives in Serbia.
